New year, New shoes

If you don't currently own a pair of pointed toe heels, you should certainly start shopping! They are fabulous, surprisingly comfortable and very versatile. Many brands have started creating this gorgeous style so you can definitely look chic for less. Zara, T.J.Maxx, BCBG, and many affordable brands sell this must-have shoe in many colors. You can make it a day time or night look, chic or edgy, and they often come in either solid colors or fun prints. This style is popular on the runway and on your favorite celebrities and it is certainly still in trend. I own them in more colors than I can admit and I am currently on the hunt for a gold pair. Email photos of yourself in your pointed toe heels to show how you would style the look: info@stylebycesca.com

H & M Spring Lookbook 2013

I usually say fit is everything but there is an effortless cool about loose-fitted clothing in the Spring that adds an edgy style to certain looks.

Happy New Year!

I recently attended Lincoln Shining Star Honors at the Delta Heritage Museum and had such an incredible time. They played live jazz, and there were notable honorees who have done great things in the public over the years. One of the honorees included Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Cynthia Bailey of The Bailey Agency and I had the pleasure of meeting her at the event.

Models on the rise

Style By Cesca recently started holding modeling workshops to help train and guide fashion models in developing their careers. Every model who attended the November session impressed us with the progress they made. One model who showed incredible commitment by driving six hours to attend the workshop from Mississippi was Kinshannta Hall. She has been a great supporter of Style By Cesca for some time and her hard work and dedication landed her a chance to walk in our next Fashion Mayhem event next Spring. She is a young beauty with great talent, a great attitude and an amazing runway walk. We can't wait to work with her.

Atlanta trend setters

Meet Vieng Nhotsombath. This Art Institute of Atlanta student and aspiring fashion designer knows fashion and isn't afraid to express her personal style. At SBC, we make it a point to highlight Atlanta's hidden gems like Vieng, whose effortless style deserves recognition.

SBC: How would you describe your personal style?

Vieng Nhotsombath: I would say that my style is versatile. It can be simple, creative, street style mixed in with some simplicity or chic. I like to use certain pieces and mesh them together even when they seem like it would be a bad idea to do. My main fashion inspiration would be the posh Victoria Beckham, all her looks are very contemporary and poised. Also Kourtney Kardashian has a favorite style of mine. It's bold but not too out there. But I also get inspiration from the street styles, as well as my surroundings

Fall Fashionistas

Meet Jossey O., a gorgeous trendsetter from Nigeria who took a moment to share her fashion secrets with SBC.

How would you describe your personal style?
-I would say my personal style is unique to me. It can be vague as well. You never know what to expect.

Who are some of your favorite designers?
- I wont say i have a favorite designer. I wear whatever I can afford that looks great on me. I'm really not into the craze of designer this or designer that. Whatever looks good on me, i'm wearing it!

Where do you get your style inspiration?
- Well, it's out with the new and in with the old! So many trends from the past are coming back in style which we classify as vintage wear.I loved it then and I love it still. Also there are some great celeb stylists out there so if i see a look i admire, i may attempt to re-create it and put my own twist on it. My friends dress really nice as well so i gotta keep my style game up to par lol.

What are your style essentials for Fall?
-Cardigans, high and low boots, scarves, tights, pants, neck pieces (bold necklaces), blazers, - catch my drift?

Any tips for transitioning from a daytime to nighttime look?
- Don't switch the two! There's no reason why one should look as though they are about to hit the club during the day. I would say in the day, be soft in the face and dress the part. At night, let the bold, daring, confident, sexy and classy you come out!

Fall is a season for separates. What are your favorite trends for this coming Fall?
Prints- I love prints on a lot of things. Also color contrast on shoes and clothes. I rock shoulder bags any time of the year so it's on my fall list as well. Everything just depends on how you wear it and make it work for you!

What is the one fashion item a woman should never leave home without?
Her lipstick/lip gloss! You will always need to re-apply lol. Most of all, confidence! It's key to everything.

If you had a career in fashion, what would it entail?
Well, I'll definitely be in the T.V. end of it. Hosting a fashion show or some red carpet event where i get to say how lovely people are and look!

Fashion Week Favorites

What I love most about Jason Wu's new collection is its versatility. It speaks to every kind of woman... the fashion magazine intern, the Hollywood starlet, the girl next door, the risk-taking fashionista, the professional woman... The list goes on. Many women can relate to his translation of feminine style. In fashion, it is crucial for a designer to understand his client and Jason Wu certainly does. The looks in his latest collection are clean and precise. You understand his pieces the minute you lay eyes on them. Sometimes you see a designer's collection and have to wonder what the inspiration is or how the collection came together. Jason Wu understands his client, her needs and her style. There is something in his collection for every occasion. His style as a designer is really evolving and its amazing to see his collections blossom into something more beautiful every time. You never know what to expect and there is something in his collection for everyone. He is a young, talented designer who truly is an inspiration to young artists following their dreams
